Tom Reed

Tom Reed trained in several martial arts before focusing on Gosoku Ryu style of Shotokan Karate in the 80's. It was in 1987 that he found Aikido, and eventually switched arts in '88. He spent most of the 90's training full time (under Nobuo Iseri shihan, affiliated with T.K. Chiba shihan), achieving the rank of of third degree black belt in 1998 and opening Wild Coast Aikido Dojo in Fort Bragg California in 1999. Eventually that dojo evolved into an Aikikendo practice with the creation of Tengu Ryu.

After more than ten years away from the martial arts, Mr. Reed has returned to share the insights he has gained and the sword practice he has developed.

Mr. Reed is a Functional Medicine Health Coach, Somatic therapist, Hypnotherapist and Personal Trainer, as well as an outdoorsman and wilderness landscape photographer.
